In the light of the broad minded policy of FCC that it could adapt to the changing times by broadening its scope of activities, a house was opened at Parappu in Marykulam Parish, on 12th November 1992 by name Clare Nivas, for women. The sisters at Parappu are engaged in serving the inmates who are handicapped, disowned by the relatives, trapped in financial problems, women unable to get married and many other types of distressed women. The Vikas Bhavan and Chavara Ashram being in the neighbourhood, the inmates have no difficulty in availing of spiritual services. For the rehabilitation of the differently abled people, organization of Rural Development and San Jose industrial co-operative society were registered. Now there are 20 inmates. Training for self employment, awareness classes, health care programmes and regular medical check-up are given to the inmates. Every year on 3rd December the Day for the differently abled is celebrated properly. The helpless ladies drive forward by self confidence and self esteem that they could overcome the physical impediments and merge into the social mainstream if proper handholding and inspiring environments are ensured. This house is a sanctuary to the disabled and the destitutes and remains as an abode of hope for all.
