At the request of the parishioners, a convent was established on 10th May 1960 at Anakkara, a remote village in Idukki district, near the Tamil Nadu border. It was blessed by Mar Mathew Kavukattu and a homeo dispensary was opened. Later Alphonsa hospital, Nirmala Nursery school and Pratheeksha Bhavan - the school for the differenly abled children - were opened for the realization of the various needs of the people. Beside working in schools, hospital and in the Parish the sisters are rendering their service in spiritual renewal and in social welfare activities. Thus the convent has come of age in terms of physical, social and spiritual development of the whole area.
