'The multitude waited in trembling hope to touch him. All were cured by the power radiated from him',( Luke 6/19)
Our 50 sisters are now serving selflessly in the medical field. The dispensary opened at Anakkara in 1973 by Sr. Dr. Mercy Jose was moved to a new building in 1979. On 23-09-1979 Alphonsa Medical center was blessed by Mar Joseph Powathil. The new 20 bedded hospital is now known as St. Alphonsa Hospital. Here 10 sisters and seven lay men deliver committed service for physical and spiritual health of the locals. The sisters regularly visit the mortally and terminally sick patients at home and care for them.
In Italy, Imola, Austria and Germany 12 sisters are serving in old age homes and hospitals. The overseas mission was begun in 1983 and still continues.
Three sisters are serving as doctor, nursing tutor and nurse at Mundakkayam Medical Trust Hospital under Kanjirappally diocese. Similarly at St. John's Hospital, run by Hospitaller Order of St. John of God, sisters are serving in nursing and paramedical departments. This service began in 1969 and still continues.
