As per the desire of the parishioners of Panapilavu a convent was opened on 19.05.1983 and blessed by the Bishop of Kanjirappally Mar Joseph Powathil. There is a nursery school and a tailoring centre associated with the convent. The sisters play a leading role in the parish service, Youth - forum,  Mothers- forum, Prayer fellowships and home visits. The economically vulnerable families are supported under 'Save a family' and 'family care' Schemes. The Convent functions as an abode of hope and refuge for the people of the locality.
